A View of the End
A Book of Miniature Paintings by Catalina Viejo Lopez de Roda

The miniature paintings in this book average 2 x 2 inches in size and mostly depict the derrieres of female celebrities. At the core of Catalina Viejo Lopez de Roda's body of work is her continued interest in the themes of voyeurism, the female body and the taboos of viewer boundaries. The paintings depict celebrities from candid viewpoints that render the subjects almost unrecognizable, in situations that contrast significantly with the staged glamour of magazine spreads.

This book includes over 30 reproductions of the paintings, as well as a discussion with art historian Joachim Pissarro, which accompany the exhibition of the same title (on view at Shag April 3 - June 7, click HERE for more info).
